How Does it Work? When your provider processes the PRF (Platelet Rich Fibrin), they treat it with heat to extend the life of the properties so it can be used for natural injection. Without this heating process, the facial fillers would not last long enough for you to reap the benefits. Once the filler is injected with a cannula or a needle, it stimulates the skin and fosters the production of collagen, fibrin, elastin, and hyaluronic acid. The result is skin that looks younger and healthier. PRF has shown to produce a higher cumulative yield of growth factors than even PRP. Partly due to the delayed-release effects of PRF fillers, you’ll need several treatments to see results (3 treatments/ 4 weeks apart). We try to make the procedure comfortable for the patient, we use a combination of numbing cream and lidocaine injections. Preparation before the procedure: 1. Avoid any non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) for two to four weeks before your treatment. NSAIDs include Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Aleve, Motrin, or Excedrin (if your physician instructs you to take these medications, get clearance before stopping any of them). 2. Don’t forget to hydrate. 3. Hold off on any Retinol or any exfoliants.
